Dell Inspiron 17 3737: install Bluetooth device on Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have to admin that I have not tested the Bluetooth device with my former Windows 7
installations on the Inspirons 17 3737, so I thought that the
WLAN problem
was the only one – that was false conclusion. The problem with the Bluetooth
device was, that smartphones or other notebooks could perhaps find the Dell Inspiron
17 3737 (or even could not find it!), but paring was impossible!

DELL Inspiron 17 3737: open BIOS, disable Secure Boot and install Windows 7

Today I received another DELL Inspiron 17 3737, so I can now test the Bluetooth problem
mentioned here.
But first, I had to install Windows 7 again… So, the first thing was to disable Secure Boot
in BIOS, because Windows 7 does not install correctly with enabled Secure Boot option.

DELL Inspiron 17 3737: install WLAN device on Windows 7 (64-bit)

Some weeks ago I installed Windows 7 on a DELL Inspiron 17 3737 notebook for a friend – yesterday, another Inspiron 17, the same procedure, the same problem! Most drivers for devices were loaded automatically by Windows Update, other drivers can be downloaded from dell.com. All worked fine, but not with the WLAN device… That’s the reason for this post!

Today I added a new Delphi project for a small issue I had yesterday: I reinstalled Windows 7 on my notebook Lenovo Thinkpad W500 (display resolution: 1920×1200) and Windows set the DPI of logon screen to 120dpi – I think that’s because of the high display resolution. But that is not the DPI I wanna see! So I wanted to change this, but there is no dialog where you can do that. But MSDN helped me: there is only one Registry value that is responsible for settings the logon screens DPI.

Wenn Treiber unter Windows Vista oder 7 streiken hilft (evtl.) eine virtuelle Maschine

Ich habe ein Abo bei einer bekannten Computer-Zeitschreift, die neulich meine neueste Studienbescheinigung haben wollte, sodass ich dies weiterhin zu den vergünstigsten Konditionen bekomme. Nun ja, ich hatte eine bei mir zu hause und wollte diese sofort scannen und abschicken. Ich habe meinen Scanner HP ScanJet 4200C an meinen Rechner mit Windows 7 angeschlossen und siehe da, nichts funktionierte.
